The Century Project is a great
facilitator of discussions centered around tough issues relating
to women’s bodies—body
image, sexuality, eating disorders, counseling, treatment of
women in the media, health, and, of course, photography. It has
been used in this capacity by many colleges and universities,
church groups, and professionally run group therapy sessions.
Creator Frank Cordelle travels extensively across North America
to exhibit this extraordinary work in conjunction with classroom,
seminar, or workshop discussion groups as desired. He travels
with over seventy large, exhibition quality prints for display
(exact number depends on available space).
The photographs and written statements are set up using folding
tables and easels (provided by Frank) around the perimeter of
a large, well-lit, securable room. Wall space, picture hangers,
etc., are not needed.
Exhibition size and seminar format may be adapted to meet the
needs of any particular group. Expenses involved include travel,
room and board, and an honorarium based on the size of the hosting
group.
